Jordan with flowers

I’ve been meaning to make some flower pieces for my co-worker Colleen and her daughter, ever since I brought mine in and she seemed to like them. I had been spending a lot of my time prepping for Spring Caravan, so it felt great this past weekend to finally get back to some of my other projects. Sunday I broke out the glue gun, bags of feathers and flowers and got to work. I made this one as well as a giant, (nearly ridiculously giant) pink one. I think the flower looks great with Jordan’s dress! Colleen said she was bellydancing around the campfire at her friend’s party over the weekend. Oh, I love how dance has leaked over to so many other aspects of my (and my friend’s) life.
I also got back to work on the sweater I’m knitting for Ang, as well as getting some serious work done on KK’s doc….. yay for productivity!

Ok, so my weekend was not nearly as productive as the last one. And not even half of what my mom got done. (Click that link if you are interested in a photo of a kiwi pizza… yeah, kiwi!) Mostly a weekend filled with people. After my excursion out to fabric row, we went out to lunch with Chris’s parents… after being foiled twice we finally made it to Tria, and I’d have to say it was worth the wait. Then home again, and Angie came over for some sewing. I failed at that Turkish vest, but Val is going to lend me one to make a pattern off of. Helped Angie cut out some awesome fabric for her apron. Red polka dot with chicken pockets and tie! It’ll look great.

Then Chelsea came over with her new puppy Maddie. Oh my goodness, so cute. Sunday was exhaustion- I got no work done, finished a book and slept for four hours in the middle of the day, curled up in the fading sunlight on my bed like a cat. Oh, weekends. Why don’t you come along more often?

(seriously, this dog is super cute. And she makes the funniest noises when she plays! I tried to capture it with my little camera, but its not nearly as cute as in real life. Oh puppies….)

she already gives her paw!
