Screen transplant successful, thanks to the AWESOME Chip M! Camera is back in action, woo hoo!

Next purchase: a hard case to protect it for sure.

Camera saga continues. Went to my Uncle’s wedding in MD this weekend. Had fun knitting in the car, swung by Gettysburg on the way home. And pulled out my camera to show off my pictures… the screen was broken. Not sure how it happened. The camera was sitting on the car seat, no one sitting on it, not dropped, not smashed… but still broken. I’ve got to search out a tiny screwdriver to try to switch the screens from my drowned camera to the recently broken camera. Chris suggests that I not buy this same camera again. I do like the photos it takes, but I think I agree with him. I want a camera that can handle being in a bag on a chair!

On another note, I’ve never been to Gettysburg before. We drove on the auto tour… very historic. Lots of monuments, lots of tour buses. Beautiful weather. Over all, quite a lovely trip. Minus the broken camera, of course.

My new camera arrived! Yay! Seems to be in good condition, so I’ll have to test it out tonight. I thought it was just going to be the camera without any accessories, since I got it on Ebay. Pleasantly surprised that a charger, battery and USB connection were also included, as well as the software that comes with the camera. Only missing the box. So now I have extra batteries and will be all ready to take pictures at the Crazy Family Wedding this weekend.

Oh, happy day. I have a little digital camera again. Be prepared for more posts with photos of the latest projects!

yup. my camera made a brief comeback, but seems thuroughly dead now. New battery does not charge. Now the camera doesn’t even turn on consistently when plugged in. I suppose its time for a funeral, and to look into purchasing a new one. And a waterproof bag. Definately a waterproof bag.

My camera works again! True, only when plugged in, I think the battery is fried, but I ordered two new batteries today from NewEgg so I should have them next week. Oh, happy day.

Rhino at the zoo

Rhino at the zoo

Went to the zoo on Saturday with Chris and his family. (His nephew is HUGE!!)  I am always a bit torn about the zoo. I like seeing the animals, but it seems sad that they are stuck in a cage or ‘habitat’. Walking around at noon, they look so miserable, hiding in the shade while kids bang on the glass and parents make stupid noises to get attention of the caged beast. Some of the animals are so strange looking. Like the Rhino, almost prehistoric looking. Like a living tank.

Took some pictures. Left my camera in my bag. With a bottle of water. Apparently the tops on the bottle has been re-designed, and is not very secure. Walking back from lunch I realized my bag was soaked through. It had been sitting under the table at lunch so I didn’t notice until the whole bottle spilled out. A sweater to dry out, a notebook to throw out… and my camera… fried. I’ve been letting it sit out to dry, but I think its a lost cause. So now I need to get a new camera. And a waterproof bag to keep it in, cause I don’t want a faulty bottle top to wreck another camera. I guess I’ll give it a couple days more to dry. How frustrating.
