Flower at The Getty

Yesterday was packed. We went to the Getty, an amazing free museum. I have tons of photos up on Flickr, so click on through to paruse them. The Getty has some great grounds… the weather was a little cloudy when we first got there, but cleared up pretty quickly.

One of the coolest things at The Getty was an exhibit called “Tango With Cows”, book art of the Russian Avant-Garde, 1910-1917. They had displays that would play the russian reading of the poetry in the books, and some really cool replica books you could leaf through. My favorite quote: “Let us all be heads of lettuce | Let us not let knives upset us” Awesome. (You can look at the books and listen here).

After walking around by UCLA and getting coffee and some awesome shirts at the $3.99 store (yes, everything in the store is $3.99), we went to Christine’s work, Bob Industries, to help her friend shoot a music video. They’re doing all this crazy after-effects work. We helped build the little town, and played in front of blue screen (to be later shrunk down and placed in the town). Hope it works out well.

By the end of the day, exhaustion.
